Privacy policy

This page explains what personal data I process on venerables.eu, why, and for how long. I try to keep it to a minimum.

Who is responsible

The data controller is me, Martin Filkuka. Contact: info@venerables.eu.

Newsletter

When you subscribe, I process your email address so I can send you new articles.

  • Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You confirm your subscription by clicking the link in the email you receive after signing up.
  • How long: until you unsubscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email, or by writing to info@venerables.eu.
  • The newsletter is sent through MailerLite. It records whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. I only look at these numbers in total, to see which articles readers find interesting.

When you write to me

If you send me an email, I process your address and your message so I can reply. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in answering your message (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). I keep the correspondence as long as needed to deal with it, and no longer than two years.

Visiting the website

The server that runs the website automatically records technical data about visits, such as your IP address and browser type. This is needed to keep the website running and secure (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The website does not use any analytics or advertising tools. The only cookie it stores is a technical cookie, pll_language, which remembers the language you chose. Fonts are loaded from my own server, not from Google.

Who else has access

I don’t sell your data or pass it on to anyone for their own purposes. I use these processors:

  • MailerLite, Inc. (USA) – newsletter delivery. Data is stored in data centres in the EU. Any transfer outside the EU is covered by the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.
  • Hostinger International Ltd. (Cyprus) – website and email hosting.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for access to your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its processing, and to data portability. You can object to processing based on legitimate interest, and you can withdraw your consent to the newsletter at any time. Just write to info@venerables.eu.

If you believe I handle your data in breach of the law, you can file a complaint with the Czech data protection authority, Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů (uoou.gov.cz), or with the authority in the EU country where you live.

Effective from 24 September 2026.
