Welcome To The Venerables
Investing with Perspective, Discipline, and Honesty
I'm an independent, long-term investor. I built The Venerables to share the way I think about markets, and to help people I trust think more clearly about their own investments.
How I Can Help
Everyone's situation and goals are different, so every conversation starts from scratch. Below is a general idea of how these conversations usually go.
01
A Conversation, Not a Pitch
It usually starts with an informal conversation — what your situation looks like today, what you’re trying to achieve, and what experience (if any) you already have with investing. There’s no obligation and no fee; the goal is simply to understand where you’re starting from.
02
Sharing a Perspective
From there, I can share how I’d personally think about a situation like yours — how I approach position sizing, valuation, and risk, and what questions I’d ask before making a decision. This is my personal perspective as a fellow investor, not a formal financial plan, and any decisions are always yours to make.
03
Staying in Touch
If it’s useful, we stay in touch — I’m happy to talk through how things are going, share how I’m thinking about the market at that point in time, or just catch up. It’s a relationship, not a transaction.

What Our Clients Are Saying
Venerables gave me exactly what I was looking for a discreet and thoughtful approach to managing my capital. Martin combines technical precision with a level of care that’s often missing in finance. The equity picks in my portfolio? Impressive. The performance? Even better.
I trusted my grandson Martin from the very beginning. We often had long discussions about politics, the economy, and world events, and I could tell he had a broad perspective and a deep understanding of things. When he started managing part of my savings, I was happy to see how carefully and thoughtfully he approached everything. Over nearly ten years, he was able to significantly grow my investments. He did it with calm, consideration, and respect for me and my values. I was very proud of him.
Martin’s discipline and focus on quality are clearly reflected in the results. The portfolio we built together performs well even during market turbulence. What I value most, though, is that I understand every investment I hold and that there’s a clear strategy behind each one.
